When I was asked to take over our family nursery in Louisiana and elevate it to the Next Level, I dove in headfirst. Like many nursery owners, I was determined to succeed and did everything I could to learn—reading books, flipping through trade magazines, attending every trade show I could find, and asking fellow nurserymen for advice.

But no matter how much information I consumed, I often hit a wall. The insights I needed—real-world, practical strategies from those who had been there—were hard to find. I had to figure things out on my own, making mistakes along the way and learning through trial and error.

It wasn’t until I started my consulting practice that everything changed. Suddenly, I had the opportunity to work with nurseries across the country, helping them navigate their biggest challenges. And that’s when it hit me: the struggles I had faced, others had already solved—years before.

I realized that if I had been part of a community where nursery owners and managers openly shared their experiences, solutions, and insights, my journey would have been much smoother. I wouldn’t have had to learn the hard way. And I knew I wasn’t alone in this.
